Avrio Advocati celebrates its 25th year as a leading international law network. To celebrate the anniversary, conference took place in Paris.
Guests had the privilege to hear from Jean- Claude Trichet, former president of the European Central Bank, about his tenure during the time of global financial crisis. The lecture dealt with the history of our present European currency- EURO and with the problems faced by the European Central Bank in the memorable year - 2008. It was a valuable lesson to understand the global pressures facing the board of the European Central Bank.
Jean-Claude Trichet has been hailed as one of the architects of the European single currency. Taking Euro in the hand, it is still possible to find there his signature and his monetary policies agreed during his tenure still have momentous consequences until today.
The ECB had to face many challenges during his time as president. Jean-Claude Trichet explained the effect of the decisions and presented the logic behind the bank’s actions during that time. He also told about the challenges with which banking systems must tackle nowadays and explained why the current banking governance in Europe is turning for the better.
Current and former presidents of Avrio Advocati had the opportunity to have an interesting and detailed conversation with former president of the European Central Bank. Afterwards Jean-Claude Trichet joined the rest of the group who had a great time at the Maison du Barreau (the Paris Bar).
The conference was a success with delegates also hearing about the Cyprus crisis of 2012 and the issues currently facing Ukraine.
